Jenny Strachan

Jenny Strachan is an award winning author and conference presenter. Her professional career includes: director of a media and publishing company, manager in the area of education and Executive consultant in the field of communication and management. She partners with senior managers across Australia, New Zealand and Asia to develop more effective communication processes.
Her expertise lies in the design and delivery of programs in the area of leadership and management development (particularly women); internal and external corporate communication; presentation skills, customer service skills, negotiation skills; as well as personal executive coaching. Jenny coaches senior teams to develop effective group processes and works individually on their communication style to enhance the effectiveness of the Executive.
She is the co-author of the McGraw-Hill publication The Business of Communicating 3/e which won the prestigious Australian Award for Excellence in Educational Publishing and which is used in tertiary courses throughout Australia. Her second book Having tea with Demons (overcoming fears that hold you back in life and work) was launched at the Women in Business conference in Perth.
Jenny was closely involved in training the highly successful volunteer force for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
She designed and delivered a program on “Delivering to Large Audiences” to the Venue Staffing Managers who were to carry out the detailed training of the volunteers.
She was then chosen as Master of Ceremonies for the Orientation Training sessions which all 50,000 volunteers had to attend as the first stage of their training. This involved handling audiences of up to 3,500 at a time, introducing past Olympic greats and hosting two ministerial media launches.
Jenny has consulted to many of Australia’s largest organisations and has designed and delivered programs in communication skills for the following companies:
Accenture, Boral, Channel 9, Goldman Sachs JBWere, GHD International Leadership Program, Moody’s Financial Services, Network Ten, NRMA Investments, Perpetual Investments, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Qantas, Shell, St. George Bank, Sydney Futures Exchange, Unilever, UBS Investment Bank, Woodside Energy and The Wiggles.
Jenny has presented in China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines. She presented at the first Women in Leadership conference in Shanghai featuring many of China’s leading corporate businesswomen. Although she was the only foreign presenter (with her presentation simultaneously translated into Mandarin and Cantonese) she took out the award for the best conference presenter.
Jenny spent four years working in management positions in Asia. During this time she was a regular guest on Business FM Radio, Malaysia being interviewed on interpersonal communication.
